This Exhibition displayed visual information on key infrastructural projects in post-war Manchester.

  

I was drawn to the detailed plans accompanied by diagrams and labels, maps with colour-coordinated lines, networks of underground tunnels and illustrations of city developments. I especially liked how most were secret or incomplete plans since history was being uncovered, and the stained paper conveys the idea of old artefacts.  The work is technical, calculated and precise however many original sketches feature drawn outlines and hand-coloured images which adds a personal quality. The method of displaying on the wall using large metal clips suits the systematic project work.
