My A1 square drawings capture the unusual and mysterious shadows cast by a parasol. I used small cocktail umbrellas as these had a simple structure and reacted well to the light source. I chose only black and white media as this allowed me to create contrasting areas of light and dark. These were my most successful attempts since the interesting compositions and spacing on the page allows you to focus on the different shapes and forms.
