| Watercolour & Book Text |
Using text from the Art School's history develops my theme of books as I considered
incorporating text within the traditional book patterns. Inspired by this
illustration of a silhouetted figure, I also selected a bold design with simple,
repeated shapes for the writing to fill.
Artist research
Book text has been made into motifs and patterns through collages and paper
origami which alters the flow of words. Likewise, text in my own work will be
fragmented and covered by other layers of the design.
Cheryl Pilling creates three-dimensional pieces using physical books by folding the paper to create shape and structure.
