| "The Embrace", Detail, 1909 |
This mono-print was influenced by
Gustav Klimt’s elaborate paintings which feature small repeated patterns within
his imagery. I noticed that book cover designs are also characterised by
circular and diamond motifs, and so I stylised my paintings with attractive
geometric shapes, adding intricate details in different shades similar to Klimt’s
work.
I followed the same colour palette as dominant yellow looks lively and would brighten a space, and is complemented by pastel shades of green and purple alongside duller brown tones.
