Starting Point: Summer Project

I documented my summer through images of scenes and objects which provide a snapshot of my experiences. Focusing on my immediate environment, I found inspiration in everyday life and aspects of my surroundings which can easily be overlooked. Working directly from collected items and incorporating them into my work became important, as well as vivid colours and capturing intricate details.

Presenting Own Work
Visiting art galleries such as the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and Clare Woods display “The Dark Matter” was very influential, featuring work with striking colour schemes and complex patterns and shapes.

Presenting Research
Oil Pastel Drawing

This piece in particular can be developed further: Capturing a passing moment in the train station, the blurred figures and sense of movement creates ambiguity and an unresolved narrative which intrigues the viewer.
